About the position

The Senior Interior Designer will play a pivotal role in leading large-scale Global and National Corporate projects from the Philadelphia, PA office of CBRE. This position is part of CBRE's Design Collective, a dynamic team known for its high design standards and collaborative spirit. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in interior design, particularly in managing and executing projects that require a high level of client engagement and presentation skills. Proficiency in Revit and Enscape is essential, as these tools will be integral to the design and documentation processes. In this role, the Interior Design Lead will provide leadership within a design team, guiding multiple aspects of the design process. This includes the design and documentation of all project phases, preparation of materials, and construction administration activities, all while adhering to established budgets, schedules, and programmatic requirements. The Project Designer will be responsible for leading specific aspects or entire projects, depending on the project's scope, and will liaise directly with clients and consultants to ensure project success. The position requires a proactive approach to managing workflow and production of deliverables, leading programming, space planning, and design activities. The Senior Interior Designer will also be tasked with researching, recommending, and selecting appropriate finishes, fixtures, and furniture, as well as clearly communicating design concepts through various presentation formats. Utilizing BIM technology, the designer will develop 3-dimensional models, documentation, and coordination, ensuring that all project design documentation is prepared and coordinated effectively. Additionally, the role involves leading construction document coordination, conducting quality assurance reviews, and participating in construction administration activities, including the review of RFIs, submittals, and site visits to ensure project accuracy. The Senior Interior Designer will also prepare workflows for junior team members, identifying development opportunities to foster growth within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Leads project team through design and delivery process, including comprehension of scope deliverables and partners with project management and technical leads on a variety of projects
  • Lead client, contractor, and consultant coordination
  • Manage workflow and production of deliverables
  • Lead programming, space planning, and design activities
  • Research, recommend and select appropriate finishes, fixtures, and furniture
  • Clearly communicate design concepts and conduct client presentations in a variety of formats
  • Utilize BIM technology in development of 3-dimensional models, documentation, and coordination
  • Prepare and/or coordinate project design documentation
  • Lead construction document coordination, review and quality assurance including coordination with consultants, contractors, and other trades
  • Participate in construction administration, including review of RFIs, submittals, and site visits to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare workflow for junior team members and identify development opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 11 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certification
  • Design experience with medium to large architectural firms
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, Enscape and Revit products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Able to mentor and give clear design direction to Designers I-III
  • Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles
  • Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions
  • Conducts basic financial analysis
  • Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations
  • Ability to tackle problems in standard situations
  • Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills
