About the position

As a Senior Interior Designer at Ware Malcomb, you will be responsible for delivering innovative design solutions to a diverse range of clients, overseeing the design process from pre-design to design development. This role involves leading design strategies, mentoring team members, and ensuring that project outcomes align with design intent while maintaining high standards of functionality and aesthetics.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to develop ongoing relationships and determine project goals.
  • Follow projects from inception through construction to maintain design quality and intent.
  • Conduct programming efforts such as space planning, layout, and utilization of furnishings and equipment.
  • Prepare and conduct client presentations.
  • Select and specify furniture, lighting, flooring, wall coverings, and artwork.
  • Estimate material requirements and preliminary costs.
  • Solicit bids and assist the Project Manager and client in subcontracting fabrication, installation, and arrangement of materials.
  • Support the Construction Administration phase by responding to RFI's and CO's and reviewing shop drawings.
  • Keep the project team on schedule and budget while providing cohesive design.
  • Implement and utilize best practices of Ware Malcomb for all projects and processes.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and junior team members in documenting design correctly.
  • Mentor and direct the work of less experienced team members and deliver performance evaluations.
  • Contribute to office activities and stay involved in design community organizations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Interior Architecture Design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • Accreditation/Registration/Licensure or pursuing Accreditation/Registration/Licensure preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create complete presentation packages.
  • Experience in Deltek Vision, Newforma, and MS Office preferred.
  • Experience in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop, Adobe Suite, and Sketchup.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Advanced knowledge of building regulations and safety codes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Deltek Vision, Newforma, and MS Office.
  • Accreditation/Registration/Licensure in progress.
