About the position

The Senior Interior Designer at Haskell is responsible for producing innovative and cost-effective designs, drawings, and specifications for various interior design projects. This role involves conceptual and detailed design, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, and coordinating with other disciplines. The designer will also manage construction documents, provide construction support, and participate in project management activities, all while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the overall success of the design team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop design concepts and produce pricing and proposal documents.
  • Research and ensure compliance with proposal/client criteria and applicable codes.
  • Lead the production of well-organized, accurate, and clear drawings.
  • Manage the production of a complete coordinated set of construction documents.
  • Coordinate the review of shop drawings and submittal data during construction.
  • Serve as the discipline field interface with the design team during construction.
  • Participate in construction inspections and prepare inspection reports.
  • Project and monitor discipline work plans and advise the design manager on status.
  • Direct technical efforts of discipline staff assigned to the project.
  • Mentor assigned staff and assist in their professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited school.
  • Typically eight years of discipline experience, with four years as a licensed professional.
  • Project experience on various projects from simple to complex and small to large.
  • Experience working on temples for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • NCIDQ Certified.
