About the position

The Senior Interior Designer at PLaN Architecture is responsible for leading design projects, ensuring client satisfaction, and mentoring junior staff. This role involves creating functional and aesthetic designs, managing project phases from conceptual design to construction administration, and fostering strong relationships with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Client-facing, ensuring strong relationships and satisfaction while overseeing and mentoring junior staff.
• Craft proposals for new projects, partnerships, or business opportunities to drive growth and innovation.
• Create functional and aesthetic designs that enhance living spaces based on client needs.
• Plan the use and layout of space and decorate with color, furniture, fixtures, etc.
• Develop drawings, presentations, and cost estimates and coordinate the work of contractors.
• Research, design, select, specify, and document furniture, fixtures, lighting, finishes, millwork, etc.
• Oversee all phases of each project, including conceptual design to construction administration through installations.
• Schedule, prepare, and lead design meetings with clients and contractors.
• Assume a team lead role for the work group as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in interior design.
• 7+ years of related experience in interior design.
• Project management experience, including new construction and renovation.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Team player with a willingness to learn and guide junior team members.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter capable of working both independently and in a team setting.
• Proficiency in Project Management Software, AutoCAD, Excel, Photoshop, Sketchup, and the Microsoft Suite.
• Knowledge of high-end furniture, finishes, materials, vendors, and fabricators.
