About the position

The Senior Interior Designer at NBBJ Seattle will lead design efforts in the Corporate, Commercial, and Life Science Interiors Practice. This role emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and client engagement to deliver high-performance, sustainable design solutions. The designer will mentor team members, guide clients through the design process, and develop comprehensive design concepts while ensuring excellence in project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead interior design in pursuit of design excellence
• Provide mentoring and guidance to team members
• Lead clients through the design process, uncovering requirements and supporting the growth of their businesses and culture
• Develop and implement overall design concepts and finish palettes through all phases of design
• Lead client-facing design presentations

Requirements

• 10-15 years of professional experience in Interior Design
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture with a strong portfolio of realized interior projects
• Experience with large, complex commercial or corporate projects; life science is a plus
• LEED or WELL Accreditation or within 18 months of hire
• Excellent leadership, verbal and communication skills, and effective client relationship skills
• Highly creative conceptual design and schematic design skills
• Strong graphic communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Deep understanding of selection and specification of materials and finishes
• Experienced in furniture selection and specification
• Desire to help drive innovative design solutions
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Ability to work in a collaborative, design-focused open environment
• Ability to travel as the project(s) requires
