About the position

On Point Design Build is a local, boutique firm located in Chicago, IL, seeking a seasoned Senior Interior Designer who is passionate about creating beautiful and unique spaces. The firm specializes in reshaping dental, dermatology, veterinary clinics, and med-spas throughout the Chicagoland area through innovative design. The ideal candidate will be kind, competent, and committed to elevating the Interior Design team to the next level. The office environment is friendly, with a collaborative group of designers and architects working together to bring projects to life. Projects move quickly, and the firm is continually improving internal systems to help everyone stay organized and meet deadlines. As a Senior Interior Designer, you will engage in a wide variety of activities, including leading client meetings and maintaining strong client relationships. You will oversee Junior Designers as they model in Sketchup, coordinate with vendors regarding product availability, lead time, and pricing, and select finishes, fixtures, art, and furniture. Additionally, you will manage the Finish Schedule and Materials Worksheet, ensure that design portions of projects remain on budget, and provide mentorship and leadership to other designers in the office. You will also coordinate effectively with internal teams, manage the design process for multiple projects simultaneously, hit internal design deadlines, track design time for better management, and continually seek ways to improve processes. The management style requires self-management and the ability to effectively lead others.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field
  • 4 years of experience in commercial interior design
  • 5 years of experience using Sketchup
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Interior Design License (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in Sketchup, Adobe Suite, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Pinterest
