About the position

Eppstein Uhen Architects, Inc. (EUA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interior Designer with over 10 years of experience in the field. This position requires a professional who can exercise judgment in assignments that have clear and specified objectives, while managing a limited number of variables. The Interior Designer will report to and work under the direction of a Project Manager, and must possess strong skills in space planning, finish selections, furniture selection and specification, millwork detailing, and finish/furniture cost estimating. Client management and presentation skills are essential for this role, as the designer will be responsible for programming all phases of the Interior Design process. The successful candidate will be adept at team coordination and collaboration, assisting in design development with a strong aesthetic sense. They will prepare construction documents and be responsible for furniture selection and specification, ensuring coordination from selection and production through to bidding and installation. Additionally, the designer will create specifications for divisions 9 through 12 and will be responsible for interior detailing, including millwork, walls, ceilings, and floors, utilizing appropriate techniques in Revit. Maintaining personal knowledge of current available products and furnishings is crucial, as is the ability to provide mentoring and direction to the Internal Project Team with respect to design. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, integrity, exceptional organization, and communication skills, along with the ability to proactively solve problems and prioritize tasks and assignments. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Skilled at space planning, finish selections, furniture selection and specification, millwork detailing, and finish/furniture cost estimating.

  • Provides mentoring and direction to Internal Project Team with respect to design.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and exhibit integrity.
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems proactively and prioritize tasks and assignments.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Interior Design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or similar field.
  • Certified Interior Designer (NCIDQ exams) required.
  • Confident and comfortable speaking with others and presenting ideas.
  • Superb client management skills.
  • Experience in Revit preferred.
  • Healthcare Market experience is a bonus.
