About the position

Seeking a Senior Interior Designer who will work closely with Strang's integrated team of professionals to develop plans and specifications for a variety of existing project types. Working under the direction of a department director, you will gain knowledge and experience in all phases of design, develop management skills to collaborate with teams of all sizes and configuration, and develop advanced design skills necessary for complex project types. You may be assisted by other junior interior designers when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provides project team leadership through the development of interior design concepts for projects of all sizes and levels of complexity.
  • Participates in the design control of projects in the design development, construction document, and construction administration phases.
  • Provides direction and mentorship to junior interior designers and architectural emerging professionals.
  • Drives the development of construction documents in adherence to the local building and accessibility codes.
  • Supports the construction administration team during construction with shop drawing review, site visits, and the development of punch lists.

  • Professional Degree in Interior Design or related field
  • 8 or more years of related experience. Prior architectural office experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with space planning, finish selection, and furniture specification.
  • Professional certifications such as NCIDQ preferred, but not required.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
  • Revit knowledge required; have at least five years Revit experience in a professional setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting and maintain a keen eye for design and details.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certifications such as NCIDQ preferred, but not required.
