About the position

The Senior Interior Designer at DLR Group will play a pivotal role in the integrated design team, responsible for collaborating on projects from pre-design through construction administration. This position emphasizes mentorship, client interaction, and the development of design concepts, while also engaging in marketing and business development activities. The role requires a strong focus on Evidence Based Design solutions and aims to enhance the overall team through leadership and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the design of projects from pre-design and programming through construction administration.
  • Mentor staff and foster a work environment emphasizing mutual respect, learning, communication, and collaboration.
  • Set a vision and direction for design concepts and presentations.
  • Lead internal project reviews and provide feedback to the team for development.
  • Contribute to the development of Construction Documents and specifications, potentially providing a QA/QC role.
  • Engage in marketing and business development activities, including participation in interviews and firm research and development projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in interior design or equivalent.
  • 10 years of commercial design experience.
  • NCIDQ (or equivalent) license.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere across multiple offices.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Industry involvement in relevant Campus market sector organizations.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with SketchUp and/or 3D rendering software.
  • Interest in Healthy Materials and sustainable building design.
