About the position

The Senior Intern is responsible for implementing behavior intervention plans, collecting data, and assisting the BCBA in developing treatment strategies. The Senior Intern provides oversight and training to Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBTs) and Behavior Technicians (BTs) in implementation of components of treatment plans while also providing 1:1 direct ABA services to clients. This position is designed to equip the Senior Intern with the skills and expertise needed for advancement to the Senior Therapist role.

Responsibilities

  • Implement programs to address socially significant needs of the client in conjunction with BCBA and caregivers.
  • Ensure that indicators of assent and withdrawal of assent are noticed, honored, and measured.
  • Work with BCBA to implement programming to promote communication skills to express assent and assent withdrawal.
  • Use clinical observation and technology (PathTap) weekly for data-based decision making.
  • Assist BCBA with baseline and ongoing assessments of new clients using appropriate assessment protocols and procedures.
  • Follow and abide by the BACB Ethics Code, Caravel ethical guidelines, and mandated reporting regulations.
  • Attend relevant workplace meetings as required.
  • Create, prepare, and organize instructional materials.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans developed by the BCBA to address behavioral goals and objectives of clients.
  • Deliver treatment to clients 80% of hours worked, including 1:1 direct services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or expected graduation within 6 months of taking on the role.
  • At least 1,500 hours of supervised experience implementing programs based on ABA principles.
  • Must be a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) or obtain RBT within 120 days.
