About the position

The Principal Financial Group is seeking a Senior Investment & Product Solution Analyst Team Lead! This individual will manage a team responsible for delivering sales engineering services to prospects, existing clients, and their advisors, as well as supporting the sales/service force and other business units. The role involves advising and supervising the execution of sophisticated business projects focused on pricing, new product/service development, and investment opportunities. The Team Lead will make strategic decisions regarding project scope, resources, timelines, and risks, ensuring that all initiatives are cost-effective and compliant with legal standards. Additionally, they will present well-researched recommendations to senior management, guiding the team in delivering effective sales engineering services to sophisticated clients, assisting with product and service negotiations, and ensuring profitable and feasible plan designs. The Team Lead will also provide expertise in resolving complex situations and enhancing market competitiveness by analyzing relevant data. They will contribute to staffing decisions, succession planning, and staff development, ensuring a strategic focus and facilitating effective decision-making processes. Building and managing relationships with key business partners, including Segments, RIS Distribution, Finance, and others, is crucial to ensure alignment with company philosophies on retirement and pricing. Furthermore, the Team Lead will develop and lead informative workshops on retirement topics, including new products, services, investments, and market trends, for both internal teams and external clients.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • 10+ years related work experience required.
  • Knowledge of retirement products, including plan design and investment knowledge.
  • Advanced planning/interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, management, presentation, listening, and written and oral communication skills required.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills required.
  • Excellent time management and decision-making skills required.
  • Formal leadership experience preferred.
  • Big picture thinking and results-oriented mindset required.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy while being detail-oriented.
