About the position

The Senior Security IT Architect at Trustmark is responsible for providing security architecture and technical leadership across the enterprise. This role involves designing and developing strategic IT roadmaps, ensuring adherence to security standards, and driving innovation in IT security practices. The architect will collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to align security architecture with business outcomes, while also managing third-party vendor compliance with security solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Designs security solutions by applying enterprise standards, frameworks, and reference architectures.
  • Evaluates and selects technology for solving security technical needs.
  • Communicates complex security topics to meet business stakeholders' project needs.
  • Adheres to best practices, processes, and standards set by the Enterprise Architecture group.
  • Works with IT Architects, Solution Engineers, and Managed Service Provider teams to analyze and document non-functional requirements.
  • Identifies system, infrastructure, and project interdependencies to ensure timely completion of security architecture deliverables.
  • Ensures strategic alignment of IT security architecture to meet business outcomes.
  • Advises on and validates security architecture deliverables for target audiences.
  • Drives fit-for-purpose security solution architecture aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Prepares and presents project documentation for the architecture review board.
  • Evaluates design approaches and implements improvements to testing strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • More than 10-12 years of related experience in IT security architecture.
  • Typically holds an advanced degree in area of specialization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud security solutions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
