About the position

The Senior IT Asset Data Analyst is a pivotal role within the organization, primarily responsible for the strategic management of IT asset data. This position is fully remote and offers a competitive hourly rate of $40/hr on a W2 basis, although it does not include paid time off (PTO). The analyst will leverage advanced analytical skills to mine, cleanse, and derive insights from asset records, ensuring their health and accuracy. A key aspect of this role involves identifying trends that may lead to exceptions in policy or process, and collaborating with various stakeholders to recommend data and process remediation plans. In addition to managing asset data quality, the Senior IT Asset Data Analyst will analyze pre-defined exception reports to maintain high standards of asset data quality and pinpoint opportunities for improvement. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying relevant data sources and establishing repeatable processes for mining data exceptions, compliance, and trends. The analyst will also be responsible for presenting findings through data visualization techniques, effectively communicating trends, issues, opportunities, and challenges to technical teams, business analysts, and process owners. Furthermore, the analyst will design and publish various reports, including compliance, KPI, and trend reports, contributing to continuous improvement efforts related to data and processes. The role also involves enhancing IT asset management practices and automation, particularly in inventory and asset management, while playing a crucial part in the development of a robust IT Asset Management (ITAM) program by identifying gaps and influencing ITAM governance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze asset data quality for all Software and Hardware assets in ServiceNow, including capital assets
  • Identify relevant data sources and repeatable processes to mine for data exceptions, compliance, and trends
  • Present trends, issues, opportunities, and challenges using data visualization techniques
  • Collaborate with technical teams, business analysts and process owners to communicate findings and identify remediation plans
  • Design and publish reports - including compliance, KPI and trend reports
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to data or process
  • Contribute to IT asset management improvements and automation, particularly around inventory and asset management
  • Contribute to a growing ITAM program by identifying gaps and influencing ITAM Governance standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
  • Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis
  • Experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and MS Power BI, working with large data sets
  • Knowledgeable in ServiceNow (including HAM Pro and SAM Pro and CMDB), Splunk (preferred), PowerBI (preferred)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with the System/Software Development Lifecycle and Project Management Methodology
  • Familiar with Finance and Procurement processes (accounts payable, depreciation, net book value, fixed assets)
  • Strong aptitude and drive for continual process improvement
