The Senior IT Business Analyst position is a critical role within the hospital's business service lines, acting as a vital liaison between the IT department and various business units. This position is responsible for providing application configuration support aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies and addressing workflow needs across departments. The role requires a deep understanding of the hospital's business processes and the ability to translate these into effective IT solutions. The Senior IT Business Analyst will support major enterprise applications and other assigned systems, ensuring that they meet the operational requirements of the hospital. In this role, the analyst will lead the design of business workflows in collaboration with business units, guiding Application Analysts in creating improved efficiencies and resolving complex workflow issues. The position involves conducting needs assessments, overseeing software design and implementation, and ensuring thorough testing of applications to meet design objectives. The analyst will also be responsible for identifying complex testing scenarios, developing test scripts, and validating results to ensure the software functions as intended. The Senior IT Business Analyst will own specific functionalities and processes, managing all aspects of configuration, testing, and communication related to these areas. Troubleshooting application and system hardware issues independently is a key responsibility, as is partnering with end users to understand their workflows and business processes. The analyst will oversee system security for assigned applications and manage disaster recovery and backup requirements, providing guidance to Application Analysts as needed. Additionally, the analyst will act as the project lead in collaboration with the Project Management Office, guiding projects from scoping and design through implementation and transition to operations. Mentorship of Application Analysts is also a significant aspect of this role, along with producing and maintaining custom reports using industry-standard report writers like Crystal Reports. The analyst will review and approve end-user training materials, participate in training efforts, and ensure high documentation standards are maintained across the team. The role also involves leading the escalation of issues and developing policies and procedures in collaboration with business units and IT management. The Senior IT Business Analyst will independently manage components of application upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and support efforts, while also supporting inbound and outbound interfaces as necessary. This position requires the creation of reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to support the customer base, as well as preparing detailed flowcharts and diagrams to assist with design decisions and problem analysis. The analyst will also assist with data collection from business subject matter experts to facilitate improved business workflows and perform other duties as assigned.
