About the position

The Senior IT Cybersecurity Specialist position is located within the Chief Information Officer Organization at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). This role is responsible for leading IT and cybersecurity projects, particularly focusing on the Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) program. The specialist will ensure that cybersecurity measures align with corporate strategies and will serve as a subject matter expert in technology and information security, providing regular updates to senior leadership and promoting security awareness across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and mature the FDIC Identity, Credential and Access Management (ICAM) program.
  • Lead the integration of ICAM elements into other program areas and assess impacts and security of developed solutions.
  • Maintain a secure and consolidated ICAM roadmap that aligns with corporate strategy and protects against cyber threats.
  • Serve as a subject matter and technical expert on the FDIC program, ensuring compliance with ICAM and cybersecurity strategies.
  • Perform regular briefings to the Senior Leadership Team on project scope, progress, and timelines, documenting concerns and feedback.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG-14 level in the federal service, managing information security initiatives or programs.
  • Experience defining road maps, strategies, maturity and governance models, policies, and requirements.
  • Proficiency in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the Federal ICAM architecture and framework.
  • Skill in applying IT and security principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices.
  • Ability to develop and interpret ICAM directives, policies, procedures, and strategies.
  • Knowledge of Zero-Trust Architecture.
