The Senior IT Database & Application Administrator at Marshall University plays a crucial role in the University Central IT Department. This position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing university databases and supporting applications. The administrator will troubleshoot and optimize database performance, manage data structures, and collaborate with various departments and vendors to ensure effective database and application functionality. Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain university databases and supporting applications.
  • Implement security controls for database systems.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize database performance issues.
  • Support application configurations and manage data structure.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other departments for database management.
  • Act as a primary technical lead on Oracle database and OCI Infrastructure.
  • Work with a team to implement and maintain multi-tier applications and databases.
  • Upgrade, monitor, fix, configure, and back up database systems.
  • Assist in managing structured and unstructured data as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Relational Database Management, or Information Technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IT Database Administrator or in a similar position.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $60,441 - $78,574, with potential increases based on education and experience.
