About the position

As a Senior IT Infrastructure & DevOps Administrator at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and advancing the DevOps infrastructures that support various programs within the organization. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to interface directly with users to resolve technical issues. You will be responsible for conducting systems analysis and development to ensure that systems remain current with evolving technologies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include server administration for both physical and virtual server operating systems, as well as configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware and network-related interfaces on servers. Additionally, you will perform operating system and vendor software patching, monitor server performance using various tools, and ensure that the infrastructure is secure, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. In this role, you will act as a liaison between customers and engineering teams, helping to define requirements and architectures for IT systems. Responsibilities

  • Serve as a front-line interface to users with technical issues.
  • Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies.
  • Maintain and advance DevOps infrastructures used by various programs.
  • Install new software and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Grant permissions to applications as needed.
  • Perform server administration for physical and virtual server operating systems.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual hardware and network-related interfaces on servers.
  • Perform OS and vendor software patching on servers.
  • Monitor physical and virtual server performance using monitoring tools.
  • Define requirements, architectures, and engineer IT systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire.
  • Advanced knowledge of VDI, RedHat Linux, Windows Server, VMware vSphere, and related technologies.
  • Proficient knowledge of software tools supporting Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, defect reporting, and scripting.
  • Proficient with development tools/concepts/scripting/methodologies/infrastructure such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, CI/CD, HELM, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Vault, Python, Powershell, and Bash.
  • Experience with implementing Linux/Windows security controls to maintain system compliance.
  • Subject Matter Expert in researching and troubleshooting complex technical issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with compliance controls such as STIGs/CIS Benchmarks, NIST SP 800-171/800-53, and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
  • Ability to engineer with system security as the number one priority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills from a variety of viewpoints.
