About the position

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in executing OneDigital's Azure Cloud strategy. Reporting to the Director of Technology Operations, your responsibilities will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions within our Azure-first estate. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure the resilience, security, and optimal performance of our Azure and on-premises infrastructure. Leveraging your deep knowledge of Azure services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies, industry-leading cloud practices, and enterprise infrastructure operations, you will be an integral part of our cloud technology focused practice.

Responsibilities

  • Assess existing on-premises infrastructure to determine suitability for cloud migration.
  • Develop comprehensive migration plans including timelines and risk assessments.
  • Execute cloud migrations ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Establish hybrid connectivity between on-site systems and cloud environments.
  • Optimize cloud resources for cost-effectiveness and performance.
  • Implement security best practices, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing support.
  • Participate in post-migration reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement Azure-based solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Work closely with development, operations, security as well as non-IT stakeholders to integrate Azure services into broader business operations.
  • Oversee the resilience, security, and performance of Azure environments.
  • Manage backup, patching, and disaster recovery functions.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and recommend operational improvements.
  • Stay abreast of Azure updates, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud migration projects.
  • At least 3 years of specific, hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure architecture, management, and delivery.
  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale, production Windows environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking, security, and infrastructure architecture.
  • Proficiency in Azure infrastructure, networking, storage, application services, and Azure DevOps.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Azure certifications preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
