About the position

As a Senior IT Project Manager specializing in Cloud Infrastructure and Security, you will play a pivotal role in managing complex projects that involve both internal and external dependencies. Your responsibilities will include identifying, documenting, and tracking risks and issues of moderate severity and impact, ensuring integration within functional capabilities, and managing costs over typically longer durations across multiple teams. You will be tasked with creating and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and team members to achieve mutual goals, which is essential for the success of the projects you oversee. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, validating, and monitoring detailed project plans to ensure their accuracy and completeness. You will review multiple project plans and track dependencies between teams and tasks, leading project meetings to ensure that tasks are completed on schedule. When team members are unable to attend, you will follow up with them to obtain updates. You will also identify and resolve discrepancies between planned and actual costs, managing the overall financial aspects of your assigned projects. Your understanding of the overall business process will be crucial for completing Business Case/ROI documentation. You will participate in change initiatives, which may include tasks outside of your specific job duties, such as involvement in Business Resource Management (BRM) workgroups. Mentoring other IT Project Managers will also be part of your responsibilities, as you will communicate project status to the project team, stakeholders, and Program Managers associated with various projects. You will advise project teams, customers, and staff on tactical solutions to overcome barriers within projects, ensuring active facilitation of project issue resolution, change management, risk management, and dependency management. Ultimately, you will be accountable for project delivery, ensuring that all projects meet time, budget, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects with internal and external dependencies, moderate scope, identify, document and track risks and issues of moderate severity & impact.
  • Create and maintain relationships with stakeholders and team members to achieve mutual goals.
  • Develop, validate, monitor, and review detailed project plans to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review multiple project plans and track dependencies between teams and tasks.
  • Lead project meetings to ensure tasks are being completed on schedule and follow up with task owners for updates.
  • Identify & resolve discrepancies in planned costs versus actual costs and manage overall financial aspects of assigned projects.
  • Understand the overall business process need for Business Case/ROI and ensure its completion.
  • Participate in change initiatives including tasks outside of specific job duties such as BRM workgroups.
  • Mentor other IT Project Managers.
  • Communicate project status to project team, stakeholders' leadership, and Program Managers as needed.
  • Advise project team, customers, and staff on tactical solutions to deal with barriers within a project.
  • Facilitate project issue resolution, change, risk, and dependency management.
  • Accountable for project delivery including meeting time, budget, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years related work experience in IT Project Management.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately to business and IT in a simple manner.
  • Strong team and relationship building with stakeholders and leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of labor, cost management and project tracking and management tools such as MS Project.
  • Advanced proficiency of SDLC disciplines and tracking artifacts.
  • Deep knowledge of the concepts, theories and processes of the Project Management Methodology (PMM).
  • High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy.
  • Broad knowledge of IT functions and thorough understanding of business processes, functions and architectures.
  • Proven success in leading/facilitating Core team or Steering meetings to obtain schedule, issues, risk, and dependency updates.
  • Experience documenting meeting minutes and action items from project status meetings.
  • Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience in IT related field.

  • Experience supporting IT Finance capabilities (Oracle HCM, ERP, Peoplesoft, SAP).
  • Cloud Migration experience.
  • Experience working with infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions within a project.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • PMP - Project Management Professional Certification.
