About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager at AECOM will oversee enterprise-wide technology projects, ensuring successful delivery from conception through to stabilization. This role involves managing project scope, budget, and resources while facilitating smooth transitions of system and process changes. The position supports the development of the Applications ERP roadmap and allows for hybrid work arrangements from either Houston or Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Identify innovative solutions to optimize business processes and enhance customer experience.
  • Gather and document requirements for technology initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed project plans and schedules to meet delivery goals.
  • Maintain the project budget and manage project team deliverables.
  • Manage vendors supporting or executing the project.
  • Collaborate with technical management and other resources on project planning and implementation.
  • Prepare and maintain all project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Enforce change control procedures to manage project scope.
  • Manage project issues and risks with necessary mitigation plans.
  • Prepare project status reports and executive presentations.
  • Define and present business cases for proposed projects.
  • Follow industry-standard SDLC processes including waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Assess impact of projects on business processes and facilitate smooth transitions.
  • Ensure compliance of projects with company controls.
  • Define the support model for new systems and facilitate transitions to support resources.
  • Perform business analysis tasks including process mapping and user training as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 10 years of IT project management experience, including 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with implementing Oracle ERP solutions, preferably Oracle Cloud technologies.
  • Solid understanding of common technologies and solutions, both infrastructure and applications.
  • Significant experience in all aspects of IT project management.
  • Experience with IT procurement and vendor relationship management.
  • Knowledge of PMI's Project Management methodology and best practices.
  • Experience managing projects using Agile/Scrum and waterfall methodologies.
  • Business Analysis experience including process mapping and requirements definition.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Project, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of projects.
  • Experience within a consulting or professional services environment.
