Babcock Power's Information Technology department is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join their team in Marlborough, MA. The primary responsibility of the IT Project Manager is to successfully manage assigned IT projects and business process initiatives. This role is crucial in leading project teams that consist of applications and operations professionals, ensuring that the goals of projects set forth by the business unit and IT leadership are met. The IT Project Manager will work closely with the business unit liaison and IT team to establish project scope, cost, and schedule during the proposal stage. This position requires a solid background and in-depth understanding of business processes and operations, information systems, and best practices to help drive IT solutions that align with the business objectives. In this role, the IT Project Manager will deliver premier customer service, developing trusted business relationships and a high-quality reputation with end users. They will serve as the Voice of the Customer (VOC) for the assigned Business Unit (BU) to IT Management, working with business leadership and users to understand and develop defined business processes that can be translated into value-added IT projects. The IT Project Manager will facilitate collaboration with IT Applications and Operations teams to establish project scope, cost, and schedule requirements, and will own and manage the BU IT Projects Portfolio. Monitoring and controlling the project scope, schedule, and cost through the initiation, planning, execution, and closing phases will be a key responsibility. The IT Project Manager will report to the Business Unit and Senior IT Management on project portfolio progress, facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for assigned projects, and acquire Customer Satisfaction Surveys while managing on-time delivery metrics. This role is essential for ensuring that IT projects are aligned with business needs and are delivered successfully.
