In this role, the Senior IT Project Manager will be tasked with managing multiple projects that involve both departmental and cross-functional teams, ensuring that all projects are aligned with business objectives and stakeholder expectations. The responsibilities include planning and directing project schedules and budgets, monitoring projects from initiation through delivery, and interfacing with customers on both technical and non-technical matters. The candidate will also be responsible for assessing project issues, developing resolutions to meet productivity and quality goals, and ensuring that all projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints. The Senior IT Project Manager will work closely with various stakeholders, including IT, operations, finance, and external vendors, to ensure effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. This role also involves managing risks by identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, as well as developing contingency plans to ensure project success. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk logs, and post-project evaluations, while providing executive-level communications and status reporting. Additionally, the role requires a strong understanding of the Scrum process and adherence to Agile theory, practice, and guidelines, driving the team to high performance through coaching and development techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects involving department or cross-functional teams focused on delivery.
  • Plan and direct schedules and project budgets.
  • Monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customers on technical and non-technical matters.
  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
  • Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including IT, operations, finance, and external vendors, to ensure project alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage risks by identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary to ensure project success.
  • Allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of project teams and materials.
  • Responsible for planning and allocating resources, preparing budgets, implementation, delivery, and monitoring progress of specific projects.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk logs, and post-project evaluations.
  • Provide executive-level communications status reporting.
  • Drive team performance by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager leading complex portfolios.
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Required knowledge and experience managing technical teams.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Collaborative mindset with a customer-focused attitude.
