About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager will oversee and manage enterprise-level IT projects, ensuring successful implementation through effective risk management, stakeholder communication, and resource coordination. This role requires a strong focus on project scope, budget management, and collaboration with both IT and business unit leaders to achieve project goals within specified timeframes and funding parameters.

Responsibilities

• Manages project scope and escalates issues/risks to appropriate stakeholders.
• Develops and executes risk management processes to ensure implementation success.
• Ensures collection, collation, documentation, and approval of project requirements and maintains a traceability matrix.
• Develops project plans including timelines, action items, and Gantt/PERT charts.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the IT organization and business technology projects.
• Develops alternative methods of addressing project implementation and contingency plans.
• Collaborates with IT and business unit leaders to review project proposals and determine time frame and funding limitations.
• Establishes work plan for projects, identifying and scheduling deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
• Manages vendors, consultants, and contractor employees as required.
• Manages IT Solutions technical staff assigned to project team and monitors project activities.
• Manages project budgets and resolves issues with customers, reviewing status reports and escalating project issues to upper management.
• Coordinates with customers and involves customer management in project planning and execution.

Requirements

• 6+ years of IT project management experience on enterprise-level projects.
• Experience managing vendors and consultants.
• Experience developing project plans and timelines and managing budgets.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in the public sector is a plus.
