About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager will be responsible for managing large-scale, complex programs and projects that involve both internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a strategic approach to project management, ensuring that all aspects of the project are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. The Senior IT Project Manager will develop and oversee project engagement, which includes planning, managing vendor relationships, facilitating communications, allocating resources, and overseeing the budget. Additionally, the role involves identifying and mitigating risks and issues that may arise during the project lifecycle. In collaboration with stakeholders, the Senior IT Project Manager will define project goals, requirements, and success metrics. Leading multidisciplinary teams through the project lifecycle is a key responsibility, ensuring that the project adheres to industry best practices. The Senior IT Project Manager will monitor project adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards, facilitating problem-solving as necessary. Maintaining integrated project plans, delivering progress reports, and updating stakeholders on project status are also critical components of this role. This position is hybrid, located near Takoma Park, MD, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities, thriving in high-performance environments. The role requires a proactive approach to project management, with a focus on delivering results and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale, complex programs and projects with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and oversee project engagement including planning, vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, risks, and issues.
  • Define project goals, requirements, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through project lifecycles, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Monitor project adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards; mitigate risks and facilitate problem-solving.
  • Maintain integrated project plans, deliver progress reports, and update stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of project management experience, including 4 years in IT development and operations.
  • Minimum 4 years of agile project management experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet, ServiceNow PPM, Microsoft Office 365, MS Visio, Tableau, and MS PowerBI.
  • Ability to work on both Mac and PC platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership ability, and experience in high-performance environments.
  • PMP certification preferred; experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries or corporate real estate construction a plus.
  • Business Analyst certification and/or ITIL certifications desirable.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year.
