About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager at Ampcus, Inc. is responsible for overseeing and managing IT projects within the Utility Industry. This role requires extensive experience in project management, particularly in leading cross-functional teams and handling multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure, cybersecurity, and network projects, along with proficiency in various project management tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee IT projects within the Utility Industry.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of at least five members across various departments.
  • Ensure successful management of multiple internal and external projects simultaneously.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure, cybersecurity, and network projects.
  • Utilize project management tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, and JIRA effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Correct at-risk projects and motivate team members to achieve project goals.
  • Conduct capacity planning and resource management for projects.
  • Implement ERP systems, preferably Oracle or SAP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in Information Technology.
  • At least 7 years of experience as an IT project manager.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in the Utility Industry.
  • Proficient in MS Project, SharePoint, Visio, MS Office tools, and JIRA.
  • Experience with Project Portfolio management concepts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Client-facing experience, both internal and external.
  • Experience with system integration, software development, and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Strong capacity planning and resource management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with web-based project management solutions (e.g., MS Project Server, Monday.com, Clarity).
  • Experience collaborating with remote teams.
  • CMMI experience.
  • Government or utility experience.
  • ITIL foundations, CSM, or Prince2 certifications.
  • Experience utilizing automated testing tools for quality assurance (Load Runner, Rational).
