About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager at NTT DATA, Inc. plays a crucial role in the coordination and support of Project Management Office (PMO) efforts. This position is based in Salem, Oregon, and involves close collaboration with project leadership, state staff, and various vendors to ensure the successful delivery of PMO services. The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, ensuring that all aspects of the project are managed effectively and efficiently. In this role, the Senior IT Project Manager will manage client projects through their full lifecycle, leading initiatives that require a deep evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and adherence to industry standards. The position demands the execution of schedules, costs, and documentation to guarantee that assigned projects reach successful conclusions. The Senior IT Project Manager will also be responsible for initiating corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and facilitating both internal team and external client meetings. Additionally, the Senior IT Project Manager will develop integrated project management plans, sub-plans, schedules, and work plans, providing advanced knowledge of system development methodology, project management, and system architecture. This role will involve working closely with senior client leadership to strategize and execute project or program objectives, ensuring alignment with client needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client projects through full lifecycle.
  • Lead projects requiring in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
  • Execute schedules, costs, and documentation to ensure successful project conclusions.
  • Initiate corrective actions to stay on project schedules.
  • Facilitate internal team and external client meetings.
  • Develop integrated project management plans, sub-plans, schedules, and work plans.
  • Provide advanced knowledge of system development methodology, project management, and system architecture.
  • Work with senior client leadership on project or program strategy and execution.

Requirements

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of project management experience with medium to large sized information technology projects.
  • A minimum of three (3) years consulting in a PMO.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of project management experience working in government.
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a consultant in a client-facing role.
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP)
