About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating IT work teams while adhering to standard project management practices such as the PMI framework. This role requires managing technical, software, and data-centric IT projects, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate IT work teams following PMI's project management practices.
• Create project kickoff, progress, and close-out reports, tracking budget and schedule progress.
• Establish project organization and methodologies, defining roles and responsibilities.
• Document risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Manage project scope and implement communication plans as necessary.
• Build effective teams with the right IT technical and business-facing subject matter experts.
• Assign tasks to team members and evaluate outcomes.
• Communicate with stakeholders and project sponsors, ensuring resolution of issues and removal of barriers.
• Provide technical support to project team members and manage complex application features.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
• Experience managing technical, software, and data-centric IT projects with 10 or more staff.
• Strong knowledge of information systems development life cycle and project management tools.
• Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to translate technical terms for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• PMP certification is highly desirable.

• Prior experience working on large data, business intelligence, or software projects in the State of Indiana.
