About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager will lead, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects for the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). This role is crucial in overseeing and directing complex corporate initiatives that exceed $5 million, involving 15-50+ stakeholder groups across various organizational work streams. The successful candidate will utilize Agile methodology to deliver results effectively. The position is 100% remote, allowing candidates from anywhere in the U.S. to apply, although project meetings are scheduled to start at 8 AM ET daily, which may limit candidates from the West Coast due to time zone differences. In this role, the Senior IT Project Manager will actively manage large-scale Waterfall or Agile projects, focusing on scheduled program increments and milestones, scope, cost, resource health, and risks. Collaboration with stakeholders in key meetings is essential to ensure successful project delivery. The project manager will also be responsible for planning and owning project finances, which includes understanding timing implications and key payment dates, while proactively reporting project status and fulfilling analysis requests. Additionally, the Senior IT Project Manager will lead vendor selection and procurement activities, ensuring that resource and operational plans are in place for project success. The role requires the preparation of key documents, business cases, and reports, while collaborating with stakeholders to navigate project funding conversations and initiation ceremonies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and leading specific work streams, with a focus on change management and timeline management, ensuring that all tasks are coordinated and aligned effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects for the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO).
  • Manage large-scale Waterfall or Agile projects holistically around scheduled program increments and milestones, scope, cost, resource health, and risks.
  • Plan and own project finances, including timing implications and key payment dates, while proactively reporting status and fulfilling project analysis requests.
  • Lead vendor selection and procurement activities under program manager guidance, ensuring project success through effective resource and operational planning.
  • Prepare key documents, present business cases, and produce reports as needed while collaborating with stakeholders for project funding and initiation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience leading projects in a cross-functional, technical systems implementation environment.
  • Strong financial management ability, including comprehension of project financials and the ability to create and manage a broader project budget.
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to successfully lead in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and any Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools for building out project plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required.
  • SAFe Scrum Master Certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
