About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager at Manhattan Associates is responsible for planning and executing IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. This role involves defining project objectives, managing quality control throughout the project lifecycle, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, including C-level leadership. The position requires a strong understanding of both technical and business aspects of projects, as well as the ability to manage risks, changes, and relationships effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate projects by understanding business problems and defining project objectives with stakeholders.
  • Create a project charter and work breakdown structure, overseeing the creation of requirements.
  • Manage comprehensive project schedules, including task dependencies and resource assignments.
  • Oversee project budgets and mitigate variances against the baseline.
  • Plan and manage testing activities, including defect management and test case creation.
  • Identify and manage program risks and issues, applying appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Lead the change control process and manage the Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Plan and manage implementation and user go-live, including training and communication.
  • Regularly distribute project status updates to stakeholders, including C-level leadership.
  • Set clear expectations with stakeholders and manage them throughout the project.
  • Build and grow business relationships vital to project success.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct work experience in IT project management, including project planning and execution.
  • Experience managing projects with business applications such as Office 360, Salesforce, Workday, and ERP/HCM applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with IT Project Management software (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and processes.
  • Ability to perform what-if scenarios on scope, schedule, and budget to determine project impact.
  • Experience in leading discussions with stakeholders to collect and synthesize information.
