About the position

Idaho Power, located in vibrant Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Senior IT Technical Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission of providing 100% clean energy by 2045, which plays a critical role in the lives of our customers and the communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon. The position is based at Idaho Power's downtown Boise location, with the flexibility to work up to 40% remotely, allowing for a balanced work-life experience. As a Senior IT Technical Systems Analyst, you will work with minimal supervision on domain-specific solutions and applications, leveraging your strong business process and end-to-end technical knowledge. Your primary responsibilities will include acting as the main liaison between technologists and stakeholders, establishing and maintaining relationships with designated business partners to support strategic objectives, and facilitating solution assessment and validation. You will be responsible for the elicitation, analysis, management, and communication of requirements, ensuring that solutions align with IT strategy and business objectives. In this role, you will analyze and assist the business in defining and designing new business solutions, including the documentation of solutions. You will also serve as a first line of support for end users, utilizing your advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution skills. Your responsibilities will extend to the development and maintenance of complex reports and queries, system configuration, and prototyping. With a deep understanding of complex technology and applications, you will draw on your experience with various business processes and information systems to drive successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main liaison between technologists and stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with designated business partners to support strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate solution assessment and validation.
  • Elicit, analyze, manage, and communicate requirements.
  • Translate and align solutions to meet IT strategy and business objectives.
  • Analyze and assist the business with defining and designing new business solutions.
  • Document solutions and maintain complex reports and queries.
  • Provide first line support for end users and troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop and maintain system configurations and prototypes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and/or certifications.
  • 5 or more years of professional level IT/business experience, with a minimum of 3 years in business analysis.
  • Knowledge of business analyst principles, requirements management, and business case development.
  • Experience with adaptive and predictive project management methodologies.
  • Basic SQL capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience utilizing Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
