About the position

This position supports the Military Sealift Command (MSC) contract in Chesapeake, VA, where you will be responsible for directing technical work on various projects. You will lead rollouts of router and switch upgrades for the MSC fleet, perform a variety of analyses, and prepare documentation. Additionally, you will prepare and make briefings and presentations, working independently to install, operate, maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and repair IT systems devices, circuits, cables, components, software, and end-user devices. As a Senior IT Technician, you will assist in the development and management of project plans, reviewing task performance and work products for correctness, adherence to design concepts, user requirements, and progress according to schedules. You will coordinate with the Contractor's project manager and Government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters. The current MSC systems you will work with include Afloat Classified Global Operating System Version 2 and 3, Maintenance Figure of Merit, Next Generation Wideband, and several others. Your role is crucial in advancing the Department of Defense's mission to keep our country safe and secure.

Responsibilities

  • Direct technical work on projects.
  • Lead rollouts of router and switch upgrades for the MSC fleet.
  • Perform a variety of analyses and prepare documentation.
  • Prepare and make briefings and presentations.
  • Install, operate, maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and repair IT systems devices, circuits, cables, components, software, and end-user devices.
  • Assist in the development and management of project plans, including reviewing task performance and work products for correctness and adherence to design concepts and user requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Contractor's project manager and Government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.

Requirements

  • 7 years of progressive IT experience including at least 5 projects in technical areas, with at least one project occurring within the past 3 years.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Security + CE certification; certification in current MSC operating systems; CCNA Certification (or obtain within 6 months of start date).
  • High School diploma.
  • Experience with Windows systems administration, software and hardware troubleshooting, and end-user support. Windows OS training.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
