About the position

The Senior Java API Developer will be responsible for developing and deploying cloud-hosted REST services using Java and Spring Boot. This role requires expertise in building enterprise web applications and integrating them with various UI app tiers. The developer will work independently in an agile environment, ensuring high-quality software solutions that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop high quality, maintainable software solutions in an agile environment to meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
• Build enterprise web and middle tier applications using core Java with Spring/Spring Boot and REST Services.
• Develop and deploy applications to the cloud using technologies such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Participate in all facets of the delivery process, including unit testing and test automation.
• Utilize source control and pull requests for collaborative development in code repository tools such as GitHub.
• Work independently under minimum supervision and own the outcome of delivering high value solutions.
• Communicate effectively and solve problems as they arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6+ years of proven experience in Java/Spring Boot API development.
• Solid knowledge in developing cloud-hosted REST services that integrate with multiple UI app tiers.
• Experience with unit testing and test automation libraries/strategies.
• Familiarity with continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins Core and Terraform.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS cloud deployment/application management.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
