About the position

The Senior Java API Developer position at Randstad US involves developing and deploying cloud-hosted REST services using Java and Spring Boot. The role requires expertise in various cloud technologies and a strong background in building enterprise applications. The developer will work independently and collaboratively in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality, maintainable software solutions in an agile environment to meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Participate in all facets of the delivery process.
  • Build enterprise web and middle tier applications using core Java with Spring/Spring Boot and REST Services.
  • Utilize unit testing and test automation libraries/strategies.
  • Use source control and pull requests for collaborative development in code repository tools such as GitHub.
  • Develop and deploy applications to cloud using technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
  • Build and deploy applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins Core and Terraform.
  • Communicate effectively and solve problems as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 6+ years of proven experience building enterprise web and middle tier applications using core Java with Spring/Spring Boot, REST Services.
  • Expertise in Java/Spring Boot API development.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and deploying applications to the cloud.
  • Solid knowledge in developing cloud-hosted REST services that integrate with multiple UI app tiers.
  • Experience with unit testing and test automation libraries/strategies.
  • Familiarity with source control and collaborative development using GitHub.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Terraform.
  • Experience building and deploying applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools.
