About the position

The Senior Java/AWS Cloud Developer role is a contract position based in Merrimack, NH, or Smithfield, RI. The position requires extensive experience in Java and AWS cloud technologies, focusing on developing and maintaining multi-tier applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in serverless API development, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices. This role involves collaboration in Agile environments and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect, craft, develop, and maintain multi-tier applications.
• Design and develop RESTful and serverless APIs using Java/Spring Boot.
• Implement AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and S3 for cloud solutions.
• Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Develop business logic using Python and manage CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Terraform.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technology roadmaps.
• Facilitate collaboration across technology partners in Agile environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of full-stack software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful Services, and Cloud Computing (AWS).
• Hands-on experience with API Design & Development and AWS services.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases in AWS.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Angular or React frameworks.
• Familiarity with ELK Stack for logging and observability.
