About the position

The Senior Java Backend Developer (Java 8) will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing cloud-native services that support the bank's transitional architecture for modernizing digital and core banking systems. This position involves leading a team to create foundational services such as gateways, proxies, and webhooks, while ensuring operational excellence through effective logging and monitoring practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test cloud-native services hosted in AWS and on-premises in OpenShift.
• Conduct code reviews and knowledge transfer sessions across the team.
• Drive operational excellence through logging and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot issues using log aggregators and performance monitoring tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable.
• 10 years of software development experience.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and development.
• Proficient in Java (8 or above) and the Spring Framework.
• Experience with Spring Boot and microservice design principles.
• Familiarity with version control solutions, preferably Git/GitHub.
• Experience with Docker and relational databases with SQL.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS services.
• Knowledge of Kafka and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Terraform.
• Experience with Application Performance Monitoring/Logging software such as Dynatrace or Splunk.
