About the position

Baer is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a 9-month Federal project located in Baltimore, MD. This position requires a United States Citizen due to the nature of the project. The role involves analyzing and solving complex business and engineering problems, designing end-to-end user experiences, and architecting scalable solutions using web applications, microservices-based APIs, and data stores. The ideal candidate will simplify and communicate complex solutions effectively to various stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver product features incrementally. In this role, you will advocate for modern application development practices, automated testing, and best coding practices. Mentoring team members on development practices and modern toolsets is also a key responsibility. You will be expected to develop prototypes and validate ideas iteratively to improve product concepts. Utilizing automated test tools and ensuring code quality through unit testing and code coverage frameworks will be essential. Hands-on experience with modern software tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, and JIRA is required to succeed in this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java/J2EE frameworks (preferably with Spring, Spring Boot, Angular UI, and Postgres).
  • 5+ years of Agile cloud development experience.
  • Strong knowledge in the Healthcare Eligibility domain.
  • Experience with development and maintenance using GitHub and Jenkins.
  • Unit testing and code coverage experience with Java, Maven, and Junit.
  • Experience with Agile environments using JIRA, Confluence, and Slack.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS tools like AWS Kinesis, AWS S3, AWS CloudWatch, AWS Lambda, and AWS Athena.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
