About the position

Wissen Technology is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team in New York City. This full-time position requires a hybrid work model, with three days a week onsite. As a Java Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality software solutions for top-tier investment banks and other esteemed clients. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in Java software engineering, demonstrating expertise in Core Java/J2EE, Spark, and a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. You will be responsible for developing and promoting a culture of engineering excellence within the company, ensuring that all software is delivered on time and meets the highest standards of quality. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, utilizing your strong development experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Spring Boot. Familiarity with modern web technologies, including JavaScript and frameworks like Angular and React, is essential. You will also be expected to build RESTful services using SOA architecture and have SQL development experience with Oracle RDBMS. Your ability to adapt to new technologies and work collaboratively will be key to your success in this position. Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver software solutions for clients in the banking and finance sectors.
• Promote a culture of engineering excellence within the company.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Build and maintain web applications and components using Java and related technologies.
• Develop RESTful services using SOA architecture and API gateways.
• Utilize modern Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Spring Boot.
• Work with SQL databases, particularly Oracle RDBMS.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.

Requirements

• 8-12 years of experience in Java software engineering.
• Expertise in Core Java/J2EE, Spark, and data structures & algorithms.
• Strong development experience with Java frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with web technologies including JavaScript, Angular, and React.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, and JIRA.
• Exposure to Linux operating systems.
• Hands-on experience in building web applications and components using Java and Spring.
• Good experience in building RESTful services using SOA architecture.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of Websockets, MQs, and real-time systems.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and services.
• Experience in Agile software delivery methods.
