About the position
The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, debugging, deploying, and evaluating complex Java and AWS applications. This role involves upgrading web applications to the latest Java version, addressing security vulnerabilities, and completing additional tasks as required. The position is remote and is expected to last for 6 months with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, deploy, and evaluate complex Java and AWS applications.
- Upgrade web applications to the latest Java version (17 or higher).
- Address and resolve web application security vulnerabilities.
- Complete additional tasks as required.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in Java, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Proficiency with JBOSS and Tomcat application servers.
- Familiarity with Docker and AWS services (VPC, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Athena, Glue, CodePipeline, ECS/Fargate).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform).
- Strong knowledge of SQL, DB2, and SQLServer, including stored procedures and advanced queries.
- Proficient with source code management and build/deployment tools (Git, Maven, Shell scripts).
- Solid understanding of system interdependencies and business process analysis.
- Cross-platform solution experience and ability to document technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
