About the position

The Senior Java Developer with Cloud role is a lead position within the Digital Payments technology organization, focusing on developing and supporting new capabilities related to money movement, such as internal transfers. The position requires a strong technical background in Java and cloud services, with responsibilities that include leading project teams, refining user stories, and ensuring the successful delivery of software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act in a tech lead role on project teams, working with scrum team in refining User Stories for quality acceptance criteria.
• Write technical design documents and propose technical solutions in adherence with latest trends in cloud-based software.
• Manage Change Management and Incident Management using ServiceNow to implement changes to production.
• Provide expert knowledge of integration between internal applications using APIs and other communication techniques.
• Assist with software delivery, including creating server architecture and configuring highly performant data sources.
• Support the transition to Kafka by analyzing use cases and setting up the Kafka environment.
• Ensure all development team deliverables are planned and completed, including sprint planning and defect fixes.
• Track and report the development team's progress using systems like ADO and Jira.
• Support staffing decisions for the development team, including interviewing and onboarding.
• Provide L3 production support 24/7/365 across the team.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful services development.
• Expert level knowledge of Change Management and Incident Management using ServiceNow.
• Experience in developing microservices with continuous integration and delivery using Spring and Spring Boot.

Nice-to-haves

• Payments/payment processing background in Wires, ACH, Zelle, TCH RTP, or Bill Payments.
• Experience using monitoring and alerting tools like Dynatrace, Zenoss, and Splunk.
• Familiarity with GIT, Maven, Jenkins, JSON, SOAP, and XML.
• Hands-on experience in writing basic SQL queries.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration technology.
• 3 years of experience delivering software using agile methodologies.
