About the position

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with a strong background in React to join our dynamic team for a key project with Amex. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java development and a solid grasp of React for building responsive user interfaces. This is a contract role based in New York, NY, requiring candidates to be available for face-to-face interviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java applications.
• Design and implement responsive web applications using React.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and ship new features.
• Optimize applications for performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvements in development processes.
• Engage in strategic technical discussions with the team to drive innovation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
• 4+ years of experience with React for front-end development.
• Proficiency in working with Spring Boot, Microservices, and other Java frameworks.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and SOAP services.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and version control systems like Git.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in the financial services industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and microservices architecture.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
