About the position

Labcorp is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a dynamic team in RTP or Burlington, NC. This role involves leveraging technology skills to develop innovative business solutions within the healthcare industry, focusing on modern frameworks for container, cloud, and serverless Java/Linux-based solutions. The developer will engage in web applications, web service development, and mentoring teams, contributing to technical thought leadership in agile development environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop intuitive, easy-to-use native cloud applications using modern Agile methodologies.
• Take ownership of assigned application development tasks.
• Design and code complex RESTful microservices for new applications and enhance existing applications.
• Design, implement, test, and review data-driven web interfaces using JavaScript frameworks like Angular.
• Follow best practices for unit testing and QA automation integration.
• Provide innovative and creative solutions for large-scale applications.
• Mentor and train developers to help solve technical challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or foreign equivalent plus ten (10) years of experience in relevant roles.
• 10+ years of hands-on implementation experience in Java, Python, PySpark, and Springboot.
• Experience working on SPRING frameworks developing RESTful web services.
• Hands-on experience leveraging AWS services in solution design and implementation, including Lambda, API Gateway, OpenSearch, DynamoDB.
• Highly proficient at SQL development.
• Excellent troubleshooting, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years' work experience and expert knowledge of primary AWS services (Lambda, ECS, IAM, VPC, EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, S3, API gateway, SQS).
• Experience with various relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Mongo DB, Databricks) for large enterprise solutions.
• Experience developing container-based and serverless applications.
• Experience with messaging services like SQS, Kafka, IBM MQ, or Kinesis.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code Tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
