About the position

The Senior Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering software applications and systems, while maintaining and supporting both production and non-production systems. This role encompasses participation in all phases of the software delivery lifecycle, from systems analysis and architecture to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. The position can be based at the Bright Horizons Headquarters in ton, MA in a hybrid remote capacity or fully remote from a home office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver SaaS solutions to HR organizations as part of a fast-paced, technical development team.
• Act as the technical lead on software projects, ensuring successful project delivery.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including system analysis, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Architect, design, and develop software systems and subsystems, considering integration, quality, performance, security, and user experience.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and execute requirements.
• Conduct design and code reviews, providing feedback on engineering best practices.
• Mentor and guide other software engineers within the team.
• Troubleshoot complex issues during projects and provide effective solutions.
• Support production systems by diagnosing and resolving production issues quickly.
• Research and champion new technologies and approaches, making recommendations based on product and project roadmaps.

Requirements

• 5 years of programming experience is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or Engineering) or 3 additional years of programming experience is required.
• Highly proficient with Java/J2EE/JEE technologies.
• Proficient in Angular Javascript framework.
• Strong technical proficiency with MVC frameworks (Spring is a strong plus).
• Strong technical proficiency with database development (MS SQL Server is a strong plus).
• Good experience with web development (HTML5, CSS3, jQuery is a strong plus).
• Good technical proficiency with content management systems (WebLogic Portal is a strong plus).
• Good technical proficiency with rules development (FICO Blaze is a strong plus).
• Good technical proficiency with automated testing and automated deployments.
• Good technical proficiency with configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining servers.
• Good technical proficiency with security and performance.
• Good technical proficiency with SOA and web services.
• Agile methodologies experience (e.g. Scrum) preferred.
