About the position

Healthedge is seeking a Senior Java Developer who is passionate about solving real-world business problems to join our team. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for developing solutions that help our customers integrate with our product suite. This role involves working as a problem solver on unique assignments within the department, making you a key player in design discussions, backend coding, and database management using J2EE and integration technologies. In this position, you will leverage your experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and enterprise application integration (EAI) concepts. Your responsibilities will include the design, implementation, and development of applications on the WebLogic Application Server platform. You will engage in all phases of software development, including requirements definition, design, architecture, development, testing, and integration, to bring cutting-edge technologies to market. Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an agile team to implement new features according to requirements while adhering to best coding development standards.
  • Conduct detailed designs and lead design whiteboarding and creation of solution architecture.
  • Lead in work-breakdown of tasks and assist with backlog grooming by breaking down epics into stories that meet the Definition of Ready.
  • Lead peer reviews of design and code.
  • Coordinate release management and bug triaging.
  • Lead technical discussions with HealthEdge customers to find optimal solutions.
  • Conduct bug fixing and implement configuration migration processes and other UAT readiness technical tasks.
  • Perform data loads for UAT readiness and during UAT as requested by the UAT plan.
  • Support resolution of customer issues in production and non-production environments.
  • Contribute to authoring the Implementation Operational Information and companion spreadsheet for feeds.
  • Perform configuration migration processes and other PROD readiness technical tasks.
  • Perform data loads for PROD readiness.
  • Execute all job functions consistent with HealthEdge policies and procedures, including those governing handling PHI and PII.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field.
  • Excellent analysis, consulting, and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in customer-facing roles on professional services engagements.
  • Minimum of 6 years of development experience in Java/J2EE technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Core Java, XML, Web Services, JMS, and SQL.
  • Experience in complex data analysis, data migrations, and system integration of software products into complex IT environments.
  • Experience in writing and understanding quality database queries or Stored Procedures that are reliable, scalable, and reusable.
  • Development experience on the Linux operating system and WebLogic Application Server.
  • Experience working with integration middleware or enterprise system bus (ESB) technologies such as iWay, Spring, or Apache Camel and OSGI containers like Apache Karaf.
  • Experience with Design Patterns and Enterprise Integration Patterns, including file transfers, messaging, routing, transforming, enriching, etc.
  • Experience with source control software (Bitbucket), unit testing (JUnit), Git, Maven, and build automation/CI (Jenkins).
  • Experience in tuning Java applications, tuning Database SQLs, Docker, K8S, Cloud, and Web Service testing tools like SOAPUI is a plus.
  • Experience in the health insurance industry (Payors) preferred.
  • Experience with agile development methodology such as SCRUM or Kanban.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8S).
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and services.
  • Experience with Web Service testing tools like SOAPUI.
