About the position

Allied Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our technical services team in Austin, Texas. This position is crucial for the ongoing development and enhancement of our Grants Management initiative. The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for making significant updates to the Grants Management Java application, which includes modifying business logic, updating the user interface, and extending reporting capabilities as well as the system data model. The role requires a deep understanding of Java programming and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. In this position, the Senior Java Developer will support application enhancements and defect corrections while the system is in maintenance mode. This includes working across multiple environments, conducting coding tests, participating in peer reviews, and ensuring thorough documentation. The developer will also be involved in defect root cause analysis and troubleshooting as necessary. Maintaining code coverage and adhering to testing and security policies and procedures is a critical aspect of this role. Additionally, the developer must be available for on-call support as needed and will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by unit operations. Candidates selected for this role will undergo criminal background checks and may be required to complete a drug screen in accordance with Federal and State Law. Responsibilities

  • Make updates to the Grants Management Java application, including changes to business logic and user interface.
  • Extend reporting capabilities and the system data model.
  • Support application enhancements and defect corrections in maintenance mode.
  • Conduct coding tests, peer reviews, and documentation.
  • Perform defect root cause analysis and troubleshooting as required.
  • Maintain code coverage, testing, and security policies and procedures.
  • Be available for on-call support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by unit operations.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) in Java programming language.
  • 8 years of experience in applications development on J2EE platform.
  • 8 years of experience in writing SQL for relational databases.
  • 8 years of experience in RESTful web services on Spring platform.
  • 8 years of experience working on Spring Aspect Oriented Programming like transaction management and security.
  • 8 years of experience with JUnit and Unit Test development.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years of experience with Angular UI Framework.
  • 4 years of experience with Crystal Reports.
  • 4 years of experience with PowerBI.
