About the position

SAIC is seeking a Senior Java Developer to modernize IRS systems and processes, enhance taxpayer experience, and reduce reliance on outdated technology. This role involves leading the architecture of client applications and supporting the development and maintenance of a modernized BMF platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead all physical and logical architecture of client applications leveraging templates and processes.
• Provide support and assistance to design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy a modernized BMF platform.
• Support day-to-day Operations & Maintenance (O&M) work based on IRS priorities.
• Assist with project management, O&M, development, modernization, enhancements, software development, legislative changes, and developmental O&M upgrades.

Requirements

• BS degree and 9 years of experience with Architectural frameworks and application design.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a MBI Clearance.
• At least 9 years' experience as a Senior Java Developer with a focus on Data Fabric Platform - AWS.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing Java-based microservices using Spring Boot framework.
• Experience designing, developing, and testing Java-based microservices using Java rules engine application with MVEL language.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and design innovative Java Plugins and Microservices.
• Ability to architect and design scalable and reliable Java microservices to meet business requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with IBM Digital Core Solution.
• Experience with Kafka and Confluent.
• Experience with Java Message Service, Core Java, Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Java, Microservices, Spring Boot, AWS services.
• Active IRS MBI Clearance.
