About the position

The Senior Java Developer position at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) involves working within an Agile team to develop and enhance software systems and applications for government clients. The role focuses on server-side software development, including coding, testing, and deploying solutions, while ensuring the delivery of updated services to meet customer needs. Responsibilities

• Conduct or participate in the research, design, and development of systems software and applications.
• Enhance, modify, and correct existing software.
• Code, test, integrate, deploy, and document software solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in server-side software development.
• Proficiency in Java, JUnit, Spring, Hibernate, and Log4j.
• Experience with web services implementation (SOAP and REST) and SQL databases (particularly MS SQL Server).
• Familiarity with Agile processes (Scrum or Kanban) and tooling such as Netbeans, Maven, Git, and Jira.
• Knowledge of cryptography services, especially certificate use and management.

Nice-to-haves

• Smart card programming experience.
• Experience with SoapUI and Quartz Task Scheduler tools.
• Familiarity with .NET programming.
