About the position

Xpansiv is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design and develop the Xpansiv Connect application, a core product offering. This role includes hands-on coding, acting as a backup to the technical lead, and ensuring high-quality, scalable systems that align with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on coding work to implement enhancements and improvements to Xpansiv's Xpansiv Connect application.
• Act as a backup to the technical lead for the application, including task allocation, prioritization, and resolution of technical issues.
• Review code delivered by junior developers.
• Collaborate with the head of architecture to develop and maintain architectural designs for system enhancements that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Interact with quality assurance engineers to triage and resolve code defects.
• Work with DevOps engineers on builds, releases, deployments, and other infrastructure-related tasks.
• Help build an engineering culture that consistently produces high-quality, scalable, architecturally sound systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of development experience with Java/Java Enterprise technologies.
• 3+ years of experience as a technical lead or backup.
• Solid computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded programming.
• Proven track record of developing scalable, high-performance, and distributed applications.
