About the position

The Java Full Stack Developer will join Adaptive's New York team to work on an auction and trading platform for institutional investment clients. This role involves leveraging advanced technologies and design patterns to solve complex technical challenges in a collaborative environment, particularly focusing on cloud-based and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain server-side software for financial systems.
• Collaborate with team members to design and implement complex front-office technology solutions.
• Utilize messaging technologies such as Aeron in system development.
• Contribute to the development of E-Trading and FIX systems.
• Build application front ends using React and Typescript.
• Participate in Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.

Requirements

• Significant professional server-side software development experience.
• Experience developing Front Office financial systems, E-Trading, and FIX.
• Solid experience programming with Core Java (Java 8 required, Java 11+ preferred).
• General knowledge of data structures such as sets, hashes, and caches.
• Familiarity with data injection/inversion of control.
• Practical knowledge of modern web tooling and client-side debugging tools.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with building OMS/EMS/Exchange systems.
• Exposure to equities trading and brokerage.
• Preference for Typescript over Javascript.
