About the position

The Java Developer position at Adaptive involves working on a new auction and trading platform for institutional investment clients. The role emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving in cloud-based environments, and the use of modern technologies and design patterns. Responsibilities

• Develop server-side software for financial systems, focusing on auction and trading platforms.
• Collaborate with team members to solve complex technical challenges in a cloud-based environment.
• Implement and maintain Front Office financial systems, including E-Trading and FIX protocols.
• Utilize messaging technologies such as Aeron in system development.
• Deliver Order Management Systems (OMS), Execution Management Systems (EMS), and Exchange systems.
• Build application front ends, particularly using React and Typescript.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including Scrum and Kanban.

Requirements

• Significant professional server-side software development experience.
• Familiarity with data structures such as sets, hashes, and caches.
• Experience developing Front Office financial systems and E-Trading.
• Proficiency in Core Java, with a minimum of Java 8 required and exposure to Java 11+ preferred.
• Knowledge of data injection and inversion of control.
• Experience with client-side debugging tools like Chrome Developer Tools and React Devtools.
• Practical knowledge of modern web tooling, including build tools and package managers.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using messaging technologies such as Aeron.
• Exposure to equities trading and brokerage.
• Typescript production experience, with a preference for Typescript over Javascript.
