About the position

Capgemini is seeking a Senior Java Microservices Developer to join their team in Atlanta, GA. The role involves developing high-performance code using Java Springboot and microservices architecture, while ensuring quality practices such as unit testing and code reviews. The developer will be responsible for end-to-end application delivery, collaborating with various teams for production deployment, and monitoring application health and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Develop elegant and high performant code as part of a team of engineers.
• Ensure quality practices including unit testing and code reviews.
• Optimize applications for non-functional requirements.
• Build and deploy components as part of the CI/CD process.
• Coordinate with required teams for production deployment and end-to-end application delivery.
• Continuously monitor application health and KPIs, supporting triage of production issues as needed.
• Collaborate in solving complex data, features, service, and platform issues, performing root cause analysis.

Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience developing microservices and cloud-native applications using Java/J2EE, REST APIs, Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JPA, and Spring Security.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, and JBehave.
• Proficient in building and deploying services using Gradle, Maven, and Jenkins as part of the CI/CD process.
• Experience working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or any other cloud platform.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to foster collaboration within a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Docker and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Knowledge of additional cloud platforms beyond GCP.
